Fever takes runner up spot, with Grayling claiming third.
Epoch emerged triumphant at Picturehouse Central in London tonight, fending off competition from seven other leading UK marketing agencies in the dramatic Live Final of The Creative Shootout 2020.
The Creative Shootout, now in its fifth year, is the UK’s leading real time and ‘live’ awards for the marketing industry, staged for a different charity each year. This year was held for homelessness charity, Crisis.
The eight finalist marketing agencies, from all disciplines, were chosen by a high-profile judging panel in late 2019 (following an entry process) and took to the main stage in Soho this evening to show off their creative clout for a cause that needs bold solutions.
The finalist agencies had just four hours to crack the real brief from Crisis, given to them at lunchtime, before pitching their creative back to a live audience of 350 and a celebrated judging panel, in just 10 minutes each. The brief was to come up with a campaign, outside of Christmas, that raises awareness of homelessness and the work Crisis does.
The team from Epoch centred their pitch around amplifying the voices of the homeless through different mediums in a campaign entitled, ‘The Voice of Crisis’, utilising creativity for good. 2nd place, Fever, surprised the audience by creating their own estate agency ‘Fauxtons’, creating a whole new movement, whilst 3rd place agency Grayling smartly came up with a campaign to harness the Finnish people’s example of ending homeless, completely.
Epoch will now go on to work with Crisis to bring to life its winning campaign in 2020, helped by a £10,000 fee prize, as well as support from a range of Partners, and also from Crisis’s existing agency network.
Creative Shootout Founder, Johnny Pitt, comments: “The Creative Shootout exists to celebrate and showcase the extraordinary talent and thinking in our industry, whilst giving something back. This year has been the biggest ever, and Epoch completely smashed it today, demonstrating real nerve and some serious creative talent over the four hours, and then on stage.”
Matt Downie, Director of Policy & External Affairs at Crisis added: “In order to end homelessness, we need bold solutions, and Epoch gave us that this evening, along with, frankly, all the finalists. The team at Crisis can’t wait to get going with Epoch, and it’s thanks to The Creative Shootout we’re able to fight homelessness, together.”
